About
43rd Street Deli & Breakfast House
Savor Classic American Favorites at 43rd Street Deli
43rd Street Deli has been a Gainesville staple since 1984. Founded by Terri and Paul Cakmis, it was built to be more than just a place to eat—it was created as a welcoming space for families, college students, and longtime locals alike.
It’s a spot where everyone feels at home, whether you’re grabbing breakfast after class, sharing a meal with family, or catching up with old friends.
For decades, 43rd Street Deli has served traditional breakfast favorites, daily specials, and New York–style sandwiches, offering something for everyone. This true mom-and-pop shop became a safe haven for families and a cornerstone of the Gainesville community.
Today, the legacy continues with their daughter, Grace Cakmis, at the helm. Grace honors the traditions that made 43rd Street Deli what it is, while elevating classic breakfast dishes to new heights.
From fresh-pressed juices and creative cold foams to over-the-top weekend specials, the menu blends comfort with creativity in a way that still feels familiar.
At the heart of it all is the team—a golden staff with unmatched teamwork and pride in every plate that leaves the kitchen. Everything is fresh, made to order, and done with intention.
We’re not just another diner or deli. We’re an institution. And we genuinely love creating delicious food and making people happy.

Our Locations
To Our Loyal Patron Family,
On behalf of the 43rd Street Deli & Breakfast House, we have some bittersweet yet exciting news to share with you. The South Gainesville location on Williston Road has been a cherished part of our community-serving up memories, meals, and meaningful moments for so many families over the years. As of August 10th, this location will officially close its doors.
It’s the end of an era, but it’s the beginning of a new chapter. A beautiful opportunity has come our way, and we are embracing the change with gratitude and hope. The next family to step into this space holds a special place in our hearts - especially Paul’s - and we look forward to supporting them as they begin their journey. Our West location (4410 NW 25th Place) will remain open and will now be a sole 43rd Street Deli, and don’t worry - we will be adding the beloved Catfish Breakfast to our main menu, so your favorites stay close.
Thank you for being part of our story. We can’t wait to welcome you at the West location and continue making memories together.
With love and appreciation,
43rd Street Deli & Breakfast House
